Then this Transport Planner role is the role for you. This role will see you: 
  • Assist in research and develop transport policy documents and strategies, engaging with a range of stakeholders through appropriate consultation
  • Assist in responding to transport-related consultations initiated by Department for Transport, Local Enterprise Partnerships, District Councils, National Parks, rail industry, bus/ferry operators, ports/ airports or other bodies
  • Assist in development of Business Cases and preparation of funding bids to a variety of funding streams at a range of scales and complexities
  • Assist with development of transport improvements in accordance with government guidance from concept through to implementation as part of integrated transport capital programme, LTP area transport strategies, Town Access Plans, or other.
  • Assist in delivery of transport schemes through Client and project management to achieve strategy objectives.
To be considered for the role the successful Transport Planner will ideally have the following background and experience:
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant Transport Planning field.
  • Project management skills
  • Assist with the provision of highway development control and planning advice.
  • Organise workload and priorities
  • Assist with making recommendations to Members and senior management over project options

This role will be predominantly working in an office environment, with infrequent visits to live sites so the ability to fulfil travel requirements is essential within this role.
