A major contractor delivering essential infrastructure within the UK water and utilities sector is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a long-term clean and wastewater programme across Hampshire. Operating as part of a strategic delivery partnership for a key southern water authority, this role offers long-term stability, ongoing workload, and the opportunity to progress within a well-structured operational environment.
About the Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing daily site activities on a variety of clean and wastewater schemes. These works typically include pipeline installations, replacement of existing assets, deep and shallow drainage, chambers, manholes, pumping station upgrades, and associated civils and reinstatement works. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and MEICA supervisors to ensure that all site operations are planned, communicated, and executed safely and efficiently.
You will take responsibility for managing operatives and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to specification and in line with programme expectations. Your role will also involve conducting and recording daily briefings, managing permits, coordinating temporary works, and monitoring site progress. Ensuring compliance with the client’s health, safety, environmental, and quality standards will be central to your day-to-day duties.
Regular communication with the client, internal delivery teams, and supply chain partners will be required to maintain visibility of progress, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making. You will also ensure accurate record-keeping including site diaries, labour and plant allocations, progress updates, as-built documentation, and reporting of any delays or variations.
About You
You will have a solid background supervising construction, utilities or infrastructure works, ideally with direct experience in the water sector. Experience delivering clean or wastewater schemes, particularly on framework-based programmes, would be highly beneficial.
You must have a strong working knowledge of site safety procedures, temporary works, permit-to-work systems and the ability to run safe and efficient sites. Experience coordinating direct labour and subcontractor teams is essential, as is the ability to read drawings, understand method statements and manage daily activity planning.
Qualifications and certifications that are required include:
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• CSCS card
• NRSWA Supervisor
• EUSR or Water Hygiene
• Full UK driving licence
Any additional training such as First Aid, Manual Handling, Confined Space, CAT & Genny or similar would be advantageous.
What’s on Offer
This role provides long-term continuity of work through a secured multi-year framework, competitive salary and benefits package, and a clear pathway for progression into Senior Supervisor, Site Manager or Delivery Lead positions. You will be joining a collaborative delivery team with strong support from engineering, commercial, and health and safety functions, giving you the tools needed to succeed in a busy and fast-paced operational environment.
If you’re looking to build your career within a key water sector programme with excellent long-term prospects, this position offers a stable and rewarding next step.
