Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centre Project (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Immediate Start | Permanent Position | Major Tier 1 M&E Contractor

We are seeking Senior Electrical Engineers to join an expanding team on an exciting large-scale data centre project in Amsterdam. This is a great opportunity to take a leading role in the electrical delivery of a major European build, supported by a highly experienced project team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review electrical designs to identify gaps, contradictions, and deviations
  • Produce detailed RFIs to clarify design issues and remove ambiguity
  • Validate equipment sizing (cables, containment, etc.) and provide recommendations
  • Manage submittals through approval stages and track procurement and equipment delivery
  • Carry out electrical system walkdowns ensuring compliance with design, standards, and internal procedures
  • Attend weekly supplier/subcontractor meetings and track progress against programme
  • Coordinate electrical services with other disciplines and the BIM team
  • Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and assist the construction team
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to all project, operational, and H&S requirements
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other technical documents
  • Support planning and sequencing for safe and efficient installation
  • Apply troubleshooting techniques and corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date document control logs

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar). Trade background advantageous
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within an M&E contracting environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Good understanding of electrical systems for data-centre environments
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with subcontractors and contractors
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
