Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager – Water & Wastewater

Location: Falmer (site-based with regional travel)
Salary: £65,000 + package

Role Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. The role involves managing site delivery teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This position suits a Project Manager with strong experience in the UK water sector, capable of leading complex civil engineering works in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of water and wastewater projects

• Plan, programme, and coordinate works in line with contractual requirements

• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective delivery

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards

• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and performance

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, variations, and cost control

• Liaise with clients, designers, local authorities, and internal stakeholders

• Coordinate design and construction activities where applicable

• Chair progress meetings and produce regular project reports

• Oversee commissioning, handover, and project close-out

Required Experience & Skills

• Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager within water and/or wastewater infrastructure

• Background in civil engineering or utilities projects

• Experience working under NEC contracts or similar

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Commercially aware with proven cost and programme control experience

• Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated environment

• Full UK driving licence

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)

• SMSTS

• CSCS (Black or Gold)

• First Aid (desirable)

• Water industry safety qualifications (e.g. EUSR, SHEA Water – desirable)
