Project Manager – Major Road Scheme

Location: Northwest London (NW4 3FP)
Permanent: Up to £70k / Freelance (outside IR35): Up to £350

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in civil engineering and highways infrastructure? We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable individual to lead a major road scheme project in North West London, with a leading roadworks contractor.

About the Role:
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a key highway’s infrastructure project from planning through to completion. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery including programme management, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and on-site operations to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of a complex road scheme project
• Manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective delivery
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Manage budgets, produce reports, and provide regular updates to senior management

About You:

• Proven experience managing highways or civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of road construction methods and CDM regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in project management software and MS Office
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree level preferred)
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification required
• Full UK driving licence
