Up to £68K including package (car allowance, pension, and bonus)

About Company

With a clear vision to deliver what they promise for their people and clients, being one of the country’s largest utility joint ventures consisting of two leading UK contractors, they have formed to tackle a contract awarded by Thames Water for the AMP6 period in 2015 with a split sum of £500 Million each. Works are now in preparation for the start of AMP7 period, with possibilities for works to continue beyond that also.

They now find themselves on the lookout for a Project Engineer who will be able to manage the end to end delivery cycle of engineering projects from the initial scoping of the need, through to commission/setting to work and handing back the completed project to the client.

About role:

  • The roles the Project Engineer will be partaking in will involve managing and delivering a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation projects.
  • Actively promote the zero compromise attitudes to health and safety, striving for continuous improvement at all times.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements, ensuring that all projects built and designed comply with the Construction Design and Management regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with delivery partners to ensure that schemes are delivered on time, minimising the risk to the business.
  • Ensuring appropriate training has been completed and that completion documents are available and handed over including test certificate and constructed drawings.
  • Overseeing the commissioning and hand over of the project to the operational buyer.

Requirements:

  • The ideal Project Engineer must have a proven experience of developing and owning first class solutions with safety as a key driver.
  • High level of competence in site contractor control and managing Health and Safety.
  • Direct experience in working within utilities sector
  • Ability to develop and adapt design solutions to drive performance and financial improvements.
  • Proven experience managing complex multi-disciplinary projects across multiple sites.
  • Comfortable coaching, mentoring and developing others in the team.

Looking for an experienced Project Engineer who has managed a high value project from start to finish. You’ll be confident procuring qualified contractors and must be articulate, numerical and commercially minded. If you have experience in the waste or water industry, this would be highly advantageous.

Additionally you will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, under your own initiative to deliver specified outputs.
