Project Delivery Manager – Water & Wastewater
Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: £65,000 – £72,000 + excellent benefits

The Role
This role sits within the Water and Wastewater Capital Project Delivery team, delivering large-scale capital programmes designed to keep water infrastructure resilient while protecting the environment.
As Project Delivery Manager, you will work as part of the Delivery Team under the Framework Manager, leading a team of Project Engineers and taking full responsibility for the quality, cost and timely delivery of projects across the full lifecycle.
You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth transition from design to construction, providing assurance on information transfer from the Principal Designer and ensuring construction activities are delivered in line with scheme deliverables and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Project Engineers across multiple capital schemes
- Take ownership of programme, cost, quality and delivery performance
- Manage operational and construction resources within a live project environment
- Assure design-to-construction handover and information flow
- Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with CDM regulations
- Hold local responsibility for Health & Safety, including construction compliance
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company policies
- Maintain high installation quality, ensuring ITPs are in place and adhered to
- Manage customer relationships and external stakeholders
- Balance conflicting demands while maintaining programme delivery
What You’ll Bring
- Operational water or wastewater experience
- Water industry construction experience
- Strong contract management skills
- Experience managing operational resources in a construction environment
- NEBOSH or SMSTS qualification
- Experience working under CDM regulations
- Alliancing experience
- Strong planning, scheduling and resource management capability
- Proven stakeholder and customer management experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Self-motivated, delivery-focused and adaptable
- A “can-do” attitude with willingness to be hands-on when required
- Ability to inspire, motivate and support teams to achieve critical outcomes
