HV Commissioning Engineer - West Yorkshire

Having doubled in size in the last couple of years, this HV contractor is looking to repeat this feat in 2018.

This rapidly expanding and busy high voltage (HV) contractor with an impressive array of clients, including utility providers, blue chip companies and local SMEs, requires Commissioning Engineers with experience working on power distribution projects at voltage levels between 11kV and 132kV.

This position will focus on commissioning of HV infrastructure, such as switchgear and cables, carrying out all the necessary testing prior to adoption by the end client, which in many cases will be the Distribution Network Operator (DNO). 

Responsibilities:

  • Testing of HV cables, transformers and switchgear including insulation resistance, pressure testing and flash testing
  • Primary injection testing
  • G59 testing
  • Relay testing
  • Fault finding
  • Protection – differential, unit, transformer and distance protection

Requirements:

  • Experience as an HV Commissioning Engineer
  • Willingness to travel to projects across Yorkshire and the UK
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Driving licence
