My client who has a successful track record as a regional civil's and construction company working with Borough & County Councils, Network Rail and Transport for Wales are looking to recruit an experienced Environment, Quality, Health & Safety Manager (SHEQ) to provide a high quality Health & Safety service to protect its employees, sub-contractors and clients in line with the overall company objectives. The role will be to lead the SHEQ team, and work across a range of infrastructure / rail projects across Wales and the South West.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Auditing active sites to monitor and maintain Health & Safety standards
  • Attending Pre-start Safety meetings and monthly safety meetings
  • Monitoring and maintaining Safety Accreditation's
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations
  • Providing the Construction Phase Plans and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Assisting in creating Health and Safety policies and site-based management systems where required

To be considered for this role the successful Health & Safety Manager (H&S) will ideally have the following background and experience:

  • A proven track record in Health & Safety Management in the Civils and Construction Industry, ideally within the rail / heavy civils sector.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate / IOSH membership or working towards chartered status
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of safety training programmes
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Team management experience.

In return the successful SHEQ Manager will receive a salary up to £60k + car allowance
