I am working with an organisation who specialise in Building Services Engineering Design. This organisation are now expanding their team due to rapid growth in securing new contracts and development within their existing projects. The focus on consistent collaboration with their clients to create the most creative, cost effective, and efficient designs.

Their primary focus is on the changing nature of the industry and how they can implement change in accordance with this, to achieve the best results in all aspects of the projects and focus on continued shared knowledge amongst our engineers.

The role:

As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the junior members staff and undertaking engineering designs while providing project management to monitor the design team costs. This role will also involve you taking into consideration the programme and budget provided for each of the projects. The day to day duties will include:-

• Carry out Mechanical design and project management of various types of projects in accordance with the company aims and policies.
• Liaise with clients and attend meetings on all aspects of the projects
• Implement company procedures policy
• Quality inspection
• Manage design team and provide Mechanical engineering support to all mechanical engineers
• Formulate Electrical standards within the organisation.
• Use CAD systems in line with company procedures.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer:-

• Worked within a building service consultancy
• Previous experience working for a large contractor in a design capacity
• Project management of multi-disciplinary projects
• Production of drawings manually .CAD experience essential
• Carry out tender analysis of returned tender packages
• Carry out site surveys
• Production of condition reports
• Management of more junior staff
• Strong team  player
• Efficient client liaison

Knowledge of:

• CIBSE Guides
• IEE Regulations
• CDM Regulations
• British Standards
• Qualified to at least HNC or Degree Level (or equivalent)
