Previous relevant experience as a Section Engineer is required as you need to hit the ground running from day one.
The usual Section Engineer duties and skills are required to be a success in this role:
-Health, Safety & Environmental
-Understands Permit System and actively raises Permits to Work
-Is able to identify potential hazards and is proactive in implementing actions and controls
-Good level of Environmental Awareness
-Engineering Control
-Able to carry out complex setting out
-Able to resolve issues with control and information provided
-Able to identify issues on drawings and suggest construction solutions
You should also have:
-Strong knowledge of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks / Drainage, Pavements, Communications, Structures, Roadworks, etc.
-The ability to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
-Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
-Current driving license and CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS qualified
