A multidiscipline contractor that operates within London and the South East has secured both a substructure and superstructure package for Battersea Power Station and as a result they have a requirement to recruit an accomplished Quantity Surveyor.
These packages of work total to £50m each, the Commercial Director plans to split the work evenly between the chosen Quantity Surveyor and a current member of the team. As this is a large package of work, the substructure phase is due to be completed in late 2018, with the superstructure being completed in late 2019. This is an enviable scheme to be working on as there was a large amount of competition when the projects were out for tender. The role will see you working closely with an experienced Quantity Surveyor to commercially manage both phases whilst reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have experience working for a specialist structures subcontractor on projects up to £25m whilst using the NEC form of contract, client-facing skills would also be advantageous.
The Commercial Director works closely with his team members in order to further develop their commercial abilities and provides direct one-to-one training as well as funding professional development such as APCs, degrees and RICS Membership which then offers the opportunity of promotion.
