Quantity Surveyor (Highways)

Salary:  £350 – 400 per day Ltd

Based:  Kingston Upon Thames (KT1)

Since their formation over 30 years ago they have evolved into one of the South East’s leading civil engineering companies, working on a vast array of prestigious infrastructure projects including highways, surfacing and drainage works.  Renowned for their expertise in highway maintenance and commitment to quality and safety, they have built an enviable reputation in the civil engineering sector.

They have an exciting opportunity for a talented, seasoned Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to come in and be based predominantly on site in Kingston Upon Thames in a freelance role for an initial 6 months with scope to go permanent after.  In terms of the day-to-day responsibilities, they would include, but not be limited to the following:

• Create and issue purchase orders for sub-contracts
• Draft and finalise sub-contract agreements
• Review valuations and generate payment notices
• Prepare payment certificates
• Maintain and update all project trackers
• Review issued drawings and manage any changes
• Develop and submit cost estimates for variations, including detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation
• Identify and document site delays, working closely with the site team
• Participate in weekly meetings focused on program, commercial, and project matters as needed
• Monitor the monthly performance of each project by comparing value against cost
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations to the client, including any variations
• Issue invoices and ensure all payments are received according to the agreed payment terms

This position will suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor from a Civils background with minimum 5 years experience, ideally with experience in highway maintenance / drainage / hard & soft landscaping who is keen to further develop their career in a dynamic environment.
