Quantity Surveyor - London - W

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor to deliver subcontract packages on airfield packages (£30m+) at Heathrow Airport. The Quantity Surveyor will join a busy team as they look to deliver these contracts for an ongoing project that has been running since 2014 and is due for completion in late 2020 with work coming beyond that.

This organisation recently took up a massive project at Heathrow Airport and ended up finishing below budget and well on within the time schedule allocated. With a track record of being reliable and trustworthy, they truly are a huge player in the civils industry which is reinforced by the fact they only work on projects over the £250 million+ mark.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor on this project, you will be involved in the day to day delivery on the works which may include general civils, concrete and asphalt surfacing and upgrading and re-configuring taxiways amongst other works. Your duties would include:

• Provide advice to managers on achieving value for money
• Responsible for the relationship with sub-contractors
• Focused on cost control in all aspects of delivery in accordance with the financial systems
• Liaise with procurement teams to ensure they comply with financial parameters
• To assist and advise Assistant Quantity Surveyors to aid their development

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent 
• Chartered status would be beneficial
• Knowledge of NEC Contracts
• Significant heavy civils experience (£30m+)
• Good communication skills
