Quantity Surveyor (Refurbishment)

Salary: £50–55k basic depending on experience

A new opportunity with an immediate start available has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor within one of London’s most reputable medium-sized main contractors.

Projects range in size from £500k to £8m, the business has various projects currently on site.

This office-based role (Head office in South East London) requires an experienced QS reporting to the Commercial Director, to oversee and manage multiple projects (new & ongoing) successfully for the business.

Role & responsibilities:

• Previous maintenance, minor works and programmed works experience (AA experience would be beneficial).
• Working knowledge and experience utilising schedules of rates for estimating and valuation (particularly NHF SOR).
• Budgeting and estimating from first principles.
• Proven ability to minimise cost, maximise value, producing accurate cashflow forecasting and P/L management.
• A working knowledge of standard forms of contracts.
• Supplier chain procurement, engagement and management.
• Cost reporting and final accounting.
• Dynamic approach to working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will require experience running one or multiple projects as lead from cradle to grave, a good attitude to work and a stable employment history demonstrating multiple years spent in QS positions with previous employers.

• Stable employment history with multiple years spent with previous employers is essential.
• Refurbishment experience is essential.
