Reporting to the Project Manager, your role as Project Engineer will see you provide engineering support to the planning, organising and controlling of all projects, relating to the operation and development throughout the project based in London.
Working on a range of existing and forecast projects, you will also be responsible for ensuring all costs are controlled in line with budget targets and all works are carried out in strict compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
As a Project Engineer, your role will involve visiting and monitoring the project sites, managing contractors and providing technical support will be paramount, alongside maintaining detailed project programmes incorporating timescales, responsibilities and cost appraisals.
Key responsibilities within the role include:
- Supervising contractors working on site on a daily basis reporting any technical issues, progress, delays, programme and cost implications of the works to the Project Manager
- Ensuring project works are carried out to an agreed form of contract and are tendered to achieve the best value for money
- Attending regular Project Meetings with Contractors and the relevant personnel to ensure work is carried out to the required standard, on time and on budget
- Completing a Monthly Project Progress Report and submission to the Project Manager
Applicants will be required to have a relevant degree in Civil Engineering or in a related technical discipline. They will have site resident engineer experience and have worked on projects at various stages, from commencement of Groundworks to completion and handover. Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS project would be advantageous.
The role requires the successful Project Engineer to be a strong communicator, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels. They will have a methodical and analytical approach and have the capacity to analyse and evaluate situations on the ground. They will also need to be willing to attend courses, integrate into the team and enjoy working outdoors. A full driving licence is essential.
