This company is a very successful established mid-sized family run civils business with over 50 years operating in the rail sector.

With a solid reputation for safety they are looking to recruit an experienced Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Manager (SHEQ) to provide a high-quality Health & Safety service to protect its employees, sub-contractors, and clients in line with the overall company objectives. 

This role will be to lead the rail Health & Safety team and work across a range of rail projects across London and the South East.

In this role of SHEQ Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading in creating Health and Safety policies and site-based management systems where required
  • Provide guidance on Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental matters to all stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and maintaining Safety Accreditation's
  • Coaching and being responsible for developing the SHEQ team.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations
  • Input into both Environmental & Quality processes and procedures

To be considered for this role the successful Health & Safety Manager (H&S) will ideally have the following background and experience:

  • A proven track record in Health & Safety Management in the Civils and Construction Industry, ideally within the rail / heavy civils sector.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate / IOSH membership or working towards chartered status
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of safety training programmes
  • Knowledge of quality, health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Team management experience.

In return, the successful SHEQ Manager will receive a salary up to £65k + car allowance
