With decades of success, built from an exceptional ability to complete many landmark civil infrastructure projects, this client is a highly sought after company to work for.

Due to continued success, they currently seek an experienced Environmental Advisor to join their office in London.

The role:

It is the Environmental Advisor’s responsibility to support Environmental and Consents Management to maintain and implement the BSCU Environmental Management System, ensuring legal compliance and contractual obligations are met, while promoting best practice and sustainability across the project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Environmental Management - ensure the Environmental Management System is followed and maintained.
  • Develop project environmental management plans - including Energy Management, Waste and Noise & Vibration etc.
  • Comply with requirements - as outlined in BSCU’s environmental management plan.
  • Develop and communicate best practice case studies.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental responsibilities.
  • Confirm the establishment of the waste management arrangements by specialist suppliers to ensure legal compliance.
  • Coordination of the delivery of consents and commitments in relation to noise (airborne and groundborne) and vibration.
  • Support the delivery of CEEQUAL certification on the project
  • Act as company environmental representative with project clients, providing support and responding to queries
  • Undertake environmental inspections and noise assessments.
  • Review of noise and vibration data to assess compliance with agreed limits and verification of sources of noise across the project.
  • Record, monitor, analyse and report on environmental KPIs and Targets.ork with the Environmental Manager to provide training and technical support.
  • Work closely with the construction teams and liaise with external parties (Local Authorities, Environmental Regulators etc) as required.

Experience, knowledge, qualifications & training

  • Good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, and be able to report at management level.
  • Educated to Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline.
  • Previous experience in an environmental role in the Rail, Construction or Engineering industry.
  • Member of IEMA (ideally Practitioner level or above).
  • Working towards Chartered Environmental status.
  • Understanding of Noise and Vibration monitoring and interpretation of measurement data.
  • Liaise with other disciplines, contractors and Clients.
  • Provide technical advice to the team.
  • IT literate, especially with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own time.
