Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Dublin

Rate: €45-€50 D.O.E.

A leading project management consultancy is searching to find Electrical Design Engineers to work on High Tech blue chip projects. This role is based in the Dublin office 60% of the time, ideally 3 days out of 5 in a week.

This opportunity is a 12 month rolling contract paying €45-€50 D.O.E. 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop scope of work and determine deliverables for electrical design projects based on preliminary reviews and meetings with the client.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical, structural, architectural and process to develop designs.
• Analyse and design medium and low voltage power distribution systems using various electrical engineering software programs
• Prepare electrical calculations and details for the installation of power systems including switchgear, transformers, panel boards, cable sizing and arc flash.
• Design other facility electrical systems, such as lighting, data & telecommunications, CCTV/Security/Access Control and Life Safety Systems.
• Perform field survey activities and provide design verification of construction activities.
• Review construction submittals for conformance with design documents
• Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.
• Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
• Ensure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company and client quality standards.

Skills and experience required:

• 4+ years of relevant electrical design experience
• Degree in electrical engineering
• Working towards a charter ship
• Knowledge in engineering design programs
• Knowledge of electrical systems, designs, and applicable codes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Result orientated, customer focused
