This company is a very successful established mid-sized family run civils business with over 50 years operating in the rail sector.

With a solid reputation in the rail sector they are looking to recruit an experienced Contractors Engineering Manager to provide a high-quality design and engineering service to support the further growth of this business and to assist in meeting the overall company goals. 

This role will be to lead the rail Civil Engineering team and work across a range of rail projects across London and the South East.

In this role of Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

• Providing guidance on engineering and design matters to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and assist in the development of CRE’s and CEM’s for the future
• Conducting the duties of Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) as required on projects
• Carrying out the duties of the Temporary Works Manager
• Take responsibility for the inspection and test plans across the company ensuring they are fit for purpose and conducting as required.

To be considered for this role the successful Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) will ideally have the following background and experience:

• A proven track record of more than 10 years in a Construction Engineering Management role ideally within the rail sector working across design and construction.
• Chartered status with a suitable professional body e.g. CEng, MICE, etc.
• Previous experience as an approved Network Rail CEM or DPE
• Competency in Temporary Works including certification as a TWC.
• Structured work history.

In return, the successful Engineering Manager will receive a salary up to £70k + car allowance + Pension
