Clerk of Works - Surrey

This is an opportunity working for a consultancy which has been around for over 3 decades, working on residential, commercial and educational properties. Over the years they have built a reputation of integrity, reliability and excellence for all of their services.                 

This consultancy are now looking for a Clerk of Works to join their team with experience in new build developments, refurbishment or cyclical maintenance to ensure the quality of the project as well as to review specifications and identify any problems whilst ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to on site. This role will see you establishing a strong working relationship with the contractor and their team from the outset whilst resolving and preventing any disputes or issues that may arise during the course of the project.

Being a member of the Institute of Clerk of Works (ICWCI) would be desirable in the role.

Duties:

• Liaise with Building Contractors
• Undertake regular inspections of construction work and monitor progress
• Prepare written reports with supporting photographs on weekly intervals
• Organise snagging and ‘end of defects’ inspections with the client in attendance

The successful Clerk of Works will have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Clerk of Works 
• Working on new build or refurbishments projects
• Good interpersonal skills
• A valid and up to date driving licence

On offer for the role is a day rate up to £220 limited on a long term contract.
