Building Control Surveyor - London - S

This Approved Inspectors are looking for an experienced Building Control Surveyor to work on a part time basis 3 or 4 days a week, within South East London. You will be joining a team of already accomplished surveyors. The contract will run for an initial 6 months, with extensions expected based on workload.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

• 3 years’ experience in a Building Control.
• Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulatory framework for the provision of the Building Control function.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Building Control related technical matters including traditional techniques
• Background in pre-application negotiation and capacity to secure work.
• Capable of carrying out risk based assessment for the purposes of operating an effective site inspection regime.
• Member of, or sufficiently qualified to be, a Corporate Member of a professional body relevant to the building profession
• To prepare a schedule of contravention of the Building Regulations shown on the submitted plans and list any additional information that is required to determine compliance with the minimum standards set down in Building Regulations.
• To recommend the decision that should be made for those Building Regulation applications by the required performance standard dates.
• To undertake site inspections to establish that building work in progress is being carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations and maintain accurate records of those sites visits sufficient to show the extent of the work inspected.

Salary is up to £35 per hour
