Assistant Buyer (Major Infrastructure / Rail) - London - C

This Global leader is currently delivering a highly successful rail project which has another 4 years to complete.  A key position has arisen for an Assistant Buyer to assist the Procurement Manager on materials procurement for the job, working closely with the Project Team.

You will ensure efficient buying practices that will result in forming strong supply chains delivering the materials to the project, on time and within budget.  You will need to have a strong eye for securing cost savings as well as an understanding of tendering / procurement practices that would include the legal aspects of negotiating.

The role will suit the following background:

• Minimum 1 years materials procurement experience
• Worked for a Tier 1 or 2 Construction or Civils contractor delivering £25m+ projects
• Able to work independently
• Strong negotiation skills
• Looking for a long term role
