Development Control Manager

Development Control Manager required to join a local authority in Kent on a permanent basis.

You will have minimum 7 years experience working in a similar role. Your responsibilities will involve you dealing with the whole process of medium to complex planning applications, undertaking site visits and participating in planning appeals. You will also be in charge of the junior planners ensuring that they strive to maintain excellent standards. You will also be involved in the training of junior planners. Occasionally you will be dealing with enforcement matters and dealing with enquiries from members of the community. Other tasks will involve you being in charge of developing and implementing internal and external best practice in order to help improve service delivery and optimise the use of resource in order to achieve best practice. Must have a degree in planning or equivalent and hold a full UK's drivers license.
