Head of Spatial Policy Planner is required to join a local authority in Berkshire on a permanent basis.

In this role you will be responsible for developing and advising the council on the Local Development Framework, The Regional Spatial Strategy and the Local Transport Plan.

Your main duties will consist of advising others on matters relating to Planning and Transportation Policy and to provide professional and technical advice when needed.

You will be responsible for the delivery and monitoring of the councils Local Development Scheme, to prepare reports, attend meetings of the Executive Council, and other committees as when stated. You will also be conducting performance appraisals, promoting professional development of staff, and setting standards of performance for the planning department.

Whilst in this opportunity you will lead, as part of a team of senior planning officers, the management of the Joint Strategic Planning unit, as part of this team you will deliver, manage and monitor the council's structure plans according to the SIA plan.

You will also be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all staff working in or for the service.

Must have a town planning degree or equivalent and be RTPI qualified. Having strong knowledge of Microsoft Word will also be desirable, you will also be willing to work flexible hours and hold a full UK's drivers license.
