The Marine Business Stream covers a range of inter-related disciplines and areas of work including, ports and harbours, marine operational facilities, waterside leisure developments and coastal engineering. You will be becoming part of an already respected and ambitious company which have an excellent career progression prospects and also opportunities internationally.
As the Principal Engineer you will be expected to lead sections of the design team when it comes to larger projects, also required to manage smaller projects with limited if all supervision.
Some of the responsibilities you will have are as follows:
- Delivery of technical solutions within budget and programme constraints
- Coordinating with other disciplines in the development of engineering solutions
- Preparation of contract documentation
- Ensuring the technical quality of your teams output
- The essential experience and qualifications you will be required to have are:
- Chartered Civil Engineer or nearing chartered status
- Experience of heavy civil engineering design projects, ideally in a marine environment
- Design of steel, concrete and piling to contemporary standards
- Ability to manage small design teams
- Strong focus on health and safety
- Experience of construction procurement routes
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
