Senior Rivers & Coastal Engineer

The Coastal and Rivers Team in Exeter for my client is expanding to meet an increasing workload for a range of local and national clients and due to this new posts are being created. Relevant project work relates to all aspects of flood and coastal risk management (flooding, erosion), coastal processes studies, river hydrology and hydraulics, flood warning & river engineering. Typical clients include the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Port Authorities / Harbour Commissioners and Private Developers. The role you will be entering is a Senior Engineer in the Coastal & Rivers Division, providing technical, managerial and marketing support as required. Some of the key tasks to be undertaken in this role include:

• Provide technical direction and mentoring to graduates.
• Manage projects, delivering them to clients on time and to budget.
• Provide assistance with marketing of Company and Team services, including the preparation of proposals.

• Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.

The qualifications and experience you are required to possess are as follows:

• Direction of other staff
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer via MICE or CIWEM
• Demonstrable record of technical experience in river or coastal engineering.
• Awareness of civil engineering industry procedures and best practice
• Previous project management experience
• Good commercial understanding
