Senior Rivers & Coastal Engineer

My client is looking for an experienced Rivers & Coastal Senior to join the team at Liverpool. The Coastal and Rivers team in Liverpool currently has a team four Coastal & Rivers staff, with relevant project work relating to all aspects of flood and coastal risk management (flooding, erosion), coastal processes studies, river hydrology and hydraulics. Typical clients include Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Private Developers, etc.
They are currently looking for a Senior Engineer to provide design and construction management expertise to sustain and contribute to commercial activities and a diversifying portfolio of Coastal and Rivers engineering activities and staff development in our Liverpool office.
The Main Responsibilities you will have are as follows:
- Play a positive role in the Advice Group and the development of Design and Construction activities in the North East and North West
- Provide technical direction, review and mentoring to graduates and engineers working on design and construction related activities including:
- Large scale Plans (e.g. Shoreline Management Plans, Catchment FloodManagement Plans);
- Strategy and Feasibility Studies;
- Outline and detailed appraisals;
- Outline and detailed design;
- Manage large and complex projects, delivering them to client's needs
- Provide construction management/supervision and contract administration expertise
- Managing own time, and others, in line with agreed project targets and investment proposals
- Contribute to knowledge management and technical developments in the Advice Group
- Contribute to proposals and the promotion of activities to internal and external customers
Your qualifications and experience
- Analytical skills
- Effective planning and organising
- Entrepreneurial and Solution oriented
- Customer focused
- Persuasive
- Team player with strong individual skills
- Experience in river and structural coastal engineering;
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Chartered Engineer via MICE or CIWEM;
- Awareness of civil engineering industry procedures and best practice;
- Previous project management experience
