Pavement Engineering Specialist

There is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pavement Specialist with one of the world's largest and most respected engineering consultancies. You will report to the Maintenance and Pavement Technical Director and be responsible for leading the pavement team investigating, analysing and designing a portfolio of pavement projects.
The primary duties of the Pavement Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Technical design and project management of projects including: investigating options; analysis; advice on materials and testing; carrying out visual surveys; undertaking design of new pavements and evaluation of existing pavements including analytical design; preparing reports, undertaking risk assessments and preparation of fee proposals;
- Managing a team of pavement engineers responsible for the investigation, design and delivery of pavement projects;
- Managing individual projects to ensure schemes are delivered on time, to required quality and to budget;
- Liaising with the Technical Director, other designers, client and other stakeholders, as appropriate, to report on project technical, commercial and progress matters.
Essential Qualifications
- a good Honours degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent);
- a post-graduate qualification in pavement engineering would be desirable;
- A chartered or near chartered engineer/member of the ICE (or equivalent).
- good post qualification experience in pavement engineering
- a good knowledge of pavement materials, testing, analysis and design
You must have:
- Good communication skills and experience in using current standards; practices and procedures in pavement engineering;
- Competence in the use of MS Office software (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
