Description:

  • Act as Job Leader and (in some circumstances) Project Leader
  • Operate and competently work on an independent basis
  • Manage single or multi-disciplinary projects
  • Communicate directly with Clients
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work
  • Plan and monitor job resourcing/expenditure and adjust as necessary
  • Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians.
  • Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design
  • Prepare Technical Specifications
  • Check/verify other team members' work
  • Monitor financial performance of jobs
  • Be alive to new project opportunities
  • Set up and manage job/project administrative systems.
  • Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
  • Ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters.
  • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client's best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
  • Commitment to CPD and self learning/development

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.

Or

  • In special circumstances, six years relevant working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership.
  • 15 years relevant experience

Job Purpose:

Project Manager responsible for heading up the site based supervision team (for client) on a new 212,000 m2 university project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsible for ensuring that the quality expectations, budget and programme constraints of the client are respected by the contractor.

Project Manager will be responsible for managing Senior Architectural, Structural, Civil and Building Services staff.

Person Specification:

They are a multidisciplinary practice that succeeds through the individual and collaborative skills of its people. This post requires a candidate who must have:

  • Corporate membership of a relevant institution
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.
  • Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations.
  • Ability to run projects successfully.
