This busy local authority, set in an idyllic location is seeking an interim Planning Policy Manager on a contract basis.

The Planning Policy Service Manager will be responsible for managing a busy policy team ensuring that work is undertaken in accordance with procedures and deadlines, lead on, project manage and deliver on time planning policy framework, prepare supplementary planning documents and development briefs. Advise the development team on planning policy matters and negotiate with developers on the future use and development of major development sites.

The Planning Policy Service Manager will have a relevant planning qualification or equivalent and be a member of the RTPI, a good understanding of operational issues and experience of achieving outcomes in planning, the ability to motivate staff within a team to perform at the highest level and the ability to identify problems and provide solutions.
